Introducing the Chris Reimer Legacy Series

SoundPony Audio Designs is the newest emdeavour from audio engineer and electronics enthusiast Rena Kozak. After two decades of manipulating audio processors, Rena is thrilled to be diving into building some herself. The first creation in the S.A.D Processing line is a dedication to her boyfriend Chris Reimer who passed away in 2012 before having the chance to realize his dream of designing and building his own guitar pedal series. The Chris Reimer Legacy Series kicks off with a sweet transistor-based distortion, originally designed by Chris on his breadboard in his bedroom with his favourite telecaster:

Beloved Calgary musician Chris Reimer, guitarist of Women, touring member of The Dodos, and accomplished experimental solo artist, passed away unexpectedly in 2012, leaving a hole in Canadian music history that we will never fully comprehend. A wise composer, Chris had so many ideas, projects and plans yet to be realized. One of those many projects was his idea for a line of guitar effects processors - Chris spent many days and nights toiling away at his breadboard in search of the perfect fuzz. After his death his girlfriend Rena, herself a sound engineer and electronics enthusiast, made a promise to one day build his creations. Today she is proud to present the first design in his series, a transistor distortion copied from Chris’ first fully finished pedal design, that he lovingly dubbed “The Squid”.
